Posted May 13, 2025, Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announced that fees for securities registrants will be waived for the 2026 fiscal year, beginning July 1. Please see the attachment for more information.
Effective October 1, 2025, Montana resident and nonresident P_roducers who sell, solicit, or negotiate pet insurance products_ _are subject to the requirements below._ - _A producer must be appropriately licensed and complete_ _two hours of training covering the following topics:_ - _Preexisting conditions and waiting periods;_ - _The differences between pet insurance and_ _noninsurance wellness programs;_ - _Hereditary disorders, congenital anomalies or disorders, and chronic conditions and how pet_ _insurance policies interact with those conditions or_ _disorders; and_ - _Rating, underwriting, renewal, and other related administrative topics._ - _The training requirements:_ - _Must be completed once within every 24-month period_ _after the initial training; and_ - _May be approved as CE courses under Title 33,_ _Chapter 17, Part 12._ - _An insurer must ensure that its producers:_ - _Have been appropriately trained on the coverages and _ _conditions of its pet insurance products._ - _Satisfaction of substantially similar training_ _requirements in another state will satisfy these training_ _requirements._ - _An insurer must:_ - _Obtain verification that a producer acting on the insurer's behalf received the required training before the producer is permitted to sell, solicit,_ _or negotiate the _ _insurer's pet insurance products;_ - _Maintain records subject to Montana's record_ _retention requirements; and_ - _Make the verification of the producer's compliance_ _with training requirements available to the_ _Commissioner upon request._
Effective July 16, 2025, South Dakota will convert to State-Based Systems (SBS). All electronic processing will be turned off starting July 10, 2025, 4:00 PM CST.
Processing applications is expected to resume on July 16, 2025, 9:00 AM CST. Any transaction submitted during this timeframe will be declined.
- License Numbers for Individuals and Business Entities will be updated to reflect the National Producer Number (NPN) - Company license numbers will be changing as part of the data migration. License numbers can be looked up and verified here after the conversion is complete:
Effective June 1, 2025, Wyoming will no longer accept paper forms for the following services. - Letter of Clearance - Voluntary Surrender - Name Change - Address Change These services need to be submitted electronically. Please see the attachment for more information.
Effective June 13, 2025, New York will begin validating the business type on electronic applications. New York requires the business type selected to match their existing record. If the Legal Business Type supplied in the transaction does not match the existing record, the transaction will be declined. Applicants who need to update their Legal Business Type may contact licensing@dfs.ny.gov
Effective June 13, 2025, Delaware will increase fees for insurance professionals by $25. This increase applies to licensing, renewals, name changes, and amendment fees. One-time appointment fees are not affected and will remain unchanged. Please see the attachment for more information.
Effective June 13, 2025, Iowa will start displaying the following license classes on the Producer Database: - Independent Adjuster - Staff Adjuster - Public Adjuster - Appraiser - Umpire
Additionally, due to new fingerprint requirements, electronic applications for resident licensing will be deferred to Iowa for review. Please go to for more information on fingerprinting requirements.

Posted May 09, 2025, Maine posted a bulletin notifying of an immediate change to the process for insurance producer examinations.
Effective immediately, those seeking to schedule an insurance examination may only take the test in a physical testing center. Online proctoring is no longer available for new reservations. Scheduled OnVue appointments will be honored through May 16, 2025.
