Utah Resident and Nonresident Language Clarified and Resident Title Reporting Date Updates

 Effective May 7, 2025, Utah has clarified the language regarding resident and nonresident licenses. Additionally, the state has updated the reporting deadline for resident title agents. Proof of sufficient capital and net worth for the preceding calendar year, which was previously due by February 1, must now be submitted by January 1 each year.

California Updates List of Approved Surplus Line Insurers April 23, 2025

Posted April 23, 2025, The Surplus Lines Association of California posted a bulletin that updated the List of Approved Surplus Line Insurers (LASLI) to reflect that: - Fortegra Specialty Insurance Company (Arizona) has been added to the LASLI effective April 16, 2025 The updated LASLI in its entirety is available on the CDI website.

Effective August 1, 2025, North Dakota will be updating fees around: license classes, exams, and appointments for residents and nonresidents.

- Producer Appointments - Current Fee: $10.00 - New Fee: $25.00 - Third-Party Administrator - Current Fee Initial: $25.00 - Current Fee Renewal: $25.00 - New Fee Initial: $250.00 - New Fee Renewal: $100.00

- Life Settlements - Provider - Current Fee Initial: $250.00 - Current Fee Renewal: $100.00 - New Fee Initial: $100.00 - New Fee Renewal: $25.00 - Broker - Current Fee Renewal: $12.00 - New Fee Renewal: $25.00

North Dakota will also be switching from using Pearson VUE as the exam vendor to PSI. Examination Fee Updates - Current Fee: $100.00 - New Fee: $64.00 (Major Lines) / $58.00 (Limited Lines) Please see the attached for more information.

Posted April 9, 2025, Ohio sent out a notice about the upcoming 2025 appointment renewal. - Any appointment that is active on June 30, 2025, will automatically be renewed effective July 1, 2025. A renewal invoice will be sent to the company in August 2025. The invoice will include the appointment renewal fees for all agent and agency appointments that were active as of June 30, 2025.  - All appointment termination requests must be completed before June 30, 2025.
