A portion of Learn data is based on state requirements for producer CE compliance, but the data for how many hours a producer has completed toward that requirement comes from WebCE, one of the most well-regarded continuing education providers in the industry.

Much of the waste in producer licensing comes from submitting applications for resident license renewals, which often incur fees both from the state and from NIPR. Unfortunately, if your producer hasn’t completed their CE, then the state will deny the license renewal application, and your fees won’t be refunded. This means you’ll likely have to pay a whole new set of fees when you re-apply. That is, provided your producer can then go get their CE and be able to reapply.

In many states, if your producer hasn’t completed CE by the end of their renewal period, their license will automatically become inactive or be revoked altogether, which further jeopardizes any nonresident licenses they hold, not to mention any contracts they have outstanding.
