SD to Allow Producers Holding Other LOAs to Sell Travel
Effective July 1, 2022, South Dakota has added language to allow producers holding other lines of authority to sell travel and does not require a P&C producer to be appointed.
The lines a producer can hold that allows them to sell travel insurance:
- Life
- Accident & Health or Sickness
- Property
- Casualty
- Variable Life
- Variable Annuity Products
Property and casualty producers no longer need to be appointed by an insurer to sell travel insurance. Limited lines travel insurance producer can be any of the following:
- Licensed managing general underwriter
- Licensed MGA or TPA
- Insurance producer
- Travel Administrator
