Pennsylvania to Add Non-Uniform Questions
Effective July 15, 2022, Pennsylvania will add a non-uniform question for resident individual initial and renewal applications and two optional questions for residents and non residents licensing and renewals.
The new (required) question for resident licensing and renewal: "Are you a veteran of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard? Action required. This will tell the state if the individual is eligible for state and federal benefits program. The new (optional) questions for both residents and non-residents: To assist the Department with reporting and outreach efforts, licensees are asked to voluntarily provide their race/ethnicity, sexual orientation. Please select the following Race/Ethnicity that applies: 1. African American/Black 2. American Indian or Alaska Native 3. Asian American/Asian 4. Caucasian/White 5. Hispanic/Latino 6. Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander 7. Prefer not to answer Do you publicly identify as LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender, etc.)? Y. Yes N. No A.
