Mississippi Now Requiring Annuity Training for Both Residents and Nonresidents
Mississippi has updated its CE requirements for residents and nonresidents. Annuity training is required for both.
Producers that hold a life line of authority and sell annuities must complete a one time 4-hour annuity training. The following are updates to the original announcement.
**Due Date Updates: **
- 7/1/22 if licensed before 1/1/22
- Prior to selling annuities if licensed after 1/1/22. Note that if an annuity training was completed prior to this date, must complete the four hour course, OR a 1-time, 1-credit training course approved by the department.
**Content Updates**
The training must cover how product specific annuity contract features affect customers and the appropriate standard of conduct.
**Satisfaction of Requirement Confirmation**
- Provide training course completion certificate
- Reports from commissioner-sponsored database that can provide information from approved insurance education providers
