The Louisiana (LA) Department of Insurance will provide electronic appointment renewal processing with the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).

• Louisiana processes ALL appointment renewals at the end of the Appointment Renewal Cycle. There will be a gap between when the appointments expire and when the appointment is renewed. This will cause the appointment to be removed from PDB display and added back when Louisiana renews the appointment.
• Electronic processing through NIPR is mandatory and continuation invoices cannot be paid directly to the state.
• Companies may terminate any appointment that should not be included on appointment renewal invoice until November 25, 2026.
• Active individual appointments on record as of November 26, 2026, will be invoiced for renewals.
• All appointments submitted on and after November 26, 2026, will not need to be renewed for the current year and will be included on the next renewal cycle in 2026.
• The NIPR website will display the renewal invoice and a list of appointment renewals beginning at 8:00 am CST on December 1, 2026.
• The invoices will no longer be displayed on the NIPR website after January 4, 2027, at 4:00 pm CST.
• Louisiana appointments paid through the appointment renewal invoice will also be updated after the renewal period ends with the effective date of December 31, 2026.
• NIPR will display the invoices as paid once payment is received.
• NIPR will forward payment and renewal transactions to the state within 24 hours of that payment.
• Appointment Renewal and NIPR processing fees are non-refundable.
• If an invoice appears to be inaccurate, please contact NIPR Support at support@nipr.com for assistance before submitting payment.
• Appointment Fee is $35 per Appointment.
