Effective November 13, 2026, Iowa will require fingerprints for Non-Resident Insurance Producer applicants who reside in a state whose insurance division does not fingerprint for the same license type.

Applicants applying for Insurance Producer that hold a resident license in the below states will defer for fingerprint requirements.

• Colorado

• Connecticut

• Illinois

• Indiana

• Kentucky

• Maine

• Maryland

• Massachusetts

• Michigan

• Mississippi

• Missouri

• Nebraska

• New Hampshire

• New York

• Oklahoma

• Rhode Island

• South Dakota

• Vermont

Exception:

Applicants applying for Insurance Producer that hold a Non-Resident license in the below states will NOT defer for fingerprint requirements.
