Ohio Allowing Addresses, Phone Numbers, and Email Updates Electronically

Update: This change will now be effective April 24, 2025. Effective April 11, 2025, Ohio will be allowing business entities to update the following data electronically. - Business Address - Mailing Address - Email - Phone number

New York Excess Lines Cybersecurity Compliance Part 2

Posted on March 25, 2025, New York’s Excess Line Association sent out a bulletin reminding New York licensed brokers of the need to show compliance with cybersecurity regulations for the next set of cybersecurity regulations, due no later than May 1, 2025. This set of cybersecurity regulations ties to the following Brokers: - Brokers that have not filed a limited or full exemption - Brokers that have filed a limited exemption - Class A Brokers Please see the attachment for more information.

Hawaii Surplus Lines Premium Tax Forms Updated

Posted March 18, 2025, Hawaii's Insurance Division has issued a bulletin regarding the 1st Quarter 2025 Surplus Lines Premium Tax Statement and Payment, due by May 15, 2025. The bulletin notes that Form 104 and Form 104C have been updated to improve efficiencies. Please refer to the attached document for more details.

Nebraska Company Appointment Renewal 2025

Effective May 1, 2025, Nebraska company appointment renewal invoices will be available for payment from May 1, 2025, through July 31, 2025. The termination deadline is April 25, 2025. The cost is $8 per appointment. Invoice fees are based on the residency of the appointee, see below.

Pennsylvania Pre-license Education Credits Removal

Effective April 29, 2025, Pennsylvania is removing the resident license requirement of needing pre-license education credits. Pennsylvania is also adding Ethics and Flood requirements for renewal.  For each license, at least 3 of the 24 required CE hours must be about ethics. - If you're licensed before 4/29/2025, you must complete the ethics requirement by 4/29/2026 or by the end of your current license period (whichever is later). - If you're licensed on or after 4/29/2025, you must complete the ethics requirement by the end of your first license period. For property and casualty licensees, at least 2 of the 24 CE hours must be about flood insurance. - If you're licensed before 4/29/2025, you must complete the flood insurance requirement by 4/29/2026 or by the end of your current license period (whichever is later). - If you're licensed on or after 4/29/2025, you must complete the flood insurance requirement by the end of your first license period.
