Maine Requiring Pet Insurance Training
On 1/1/23 Pet insurance carriers will be required to provide training to both residents and non-residents.
The training must cover the following:
- Pre-existing conditions and waiting periods
- The different between pet insurance and non-insurance wellness programs
- Hereditary disorders, congenital anomalies or disorders, and chronic conditions and how pet insurance works with these
- Rating, underwriting, renewal, and other administrative topics
