First renewal period may be no less than 18 months and no more than 29 months after license issuance. If your second birthday is fewer than 18 months from your initial license issuance, then you will renew in your third birthday month from initial licensing. Some limited and surplus lines agents are exempt from CE.
You can reapply and pay late fees via NIPR within 12 months of your missed due date. After that 12 months, you will need to reapply as a new license candidate.

Regulatory Updates
Illinois Adds Grace Period
The Illinois DOI has announced a grace period to implement changes made to 50 Illinois Administrative Code 3120, which includes new supervisory requirements for insurers to ensure producer compliance and training requirements for producers selling annuities. Companies are expected to comply by August 1, 2023.
Illinois Adding No Home State
Beginning on 4/14/2023 Illinois will be offering No Home State for initial licenses and renewals.
Illinois Sets 2022 Company Renewal Dates for Limited Lines Producer Classes
The invoice renewal period is 11/2/22 8AM CST until 1/2/23 4PM CST. The deadline for terminations is 10/27/22. After an appointment is renewed, the new date displayed on the PDB will be 12/31/23.
Illinois Announces June Filing Cutoff
The June cutoff is set for 4:30pm CST on June 22, 2022. Filings after this time will be part of July activity.
Illinois Updates General Requirements for Continued Education
Illinois is requiring 4 hours of CE biennially. Credit will be given on a hour-by-hour basis and must be reported by a registered CE provider association. These credits do not settle the ethics requirement.
